Re: Christmas in July! Hawk's 17" GTA Wheels arrived.
Very nice! Can't wait to see them on your car. What tire are you going with? BFG/Firestones on the low end are about 500-600 a set. Good Years and Michelins are about 1200 (ouch!).
Mine came in as well - couldn't pass up the sale price!!! I went with black, still debating on leaving them as is or painting them a different color like silver, white, gray, gold, etc.

Thanks! I have a brand new set (well 1 year old) of Firestone Indy 500 275/40/17's just sitting. I want to use those. I have Nitto 555 on the RamAir and the 30th. I would go with them, but I don't want the Firestones to continue sitting.

That is a great deal.
If you don't mind my asking...how did you hear about it? After spending a fair amount of money for a rear spoiler and a few other odds and ends, I would like to think I'd be on any sort of mailing list they might have.

Dave, They had an advertisement on their site. I also get their weekly or whatever emails about their sales going on. I had been watching those rims for about a year so when I seen the 20% off deal, I pounced! $770 to the door! Here is a picture of the Firestone Wide Oval Indy 500 275/40/17 mounted. I'll put them on the TTA this weekend.

Bob, looking great! Do you have an angled view to show how squared the shoulders are on that size Firestone?
Dave, I heard about the sale on Instagram. They usually have a sale of some sort over 4th of July. Might be another over Labor Day or Christmas. Maybe you could even call them and ask to get in on it a few weeks late... worst they'll say is no.
Re: Christmas in July! Hawk's 17" GTA Wheels arrived.
Kurt, I did not take a shot of it. But as I was loading them in the Bronco, they where all standing up side by side and the do have a "square" appearance. I'll snap some later. No bulge effect, just "meaty" square??!!?? make sense??
Re: Christmas in July! Hawk's 17" GTA Wheels arrived.
Thanks Bob, tires look great! I have the same tires in 245/50/16. The 275 Firestones on 9" wheels look much better than my 245s on 8", which seem to have a more rounded shoulder. Can't wait to see them on the car.
Re: Christmas in July! Hawk's 17" GTA Wheels arrived.
Awesome - came out great! Very subtle look. 8" wheels with 245s always looked a tad skinny on these cars, even if it did provide the best balance for the stock setup.
