this may be a newbie question but can anyone please tell me is there supposed to be a plug in this slot coming out of the power steering hose???? Also do I need regular power steering or ATF to refill the reservoir???

 

That's a sensor to kick the A/C compressor off when the steering is working extra hard. It's specific to V6 and low output V8s. Probably TBI cars, but I'd have to pull out a book to be sure. It's not used on TPI cars to the best of my knowledge. Without knowing what your car is, I really can't be more specific.
