Anybody know what this is for
I just picked up this 85 z28 and was wondering what this key is for. I've never seen it in any others before.

Well, since you have it now you should wire it up to do something completely useless. Like illuminate the passenger floorboard.

Looks to me to be an ignition lockout / anti theft fob. I had a factory one in my ZR2 Blazer that was in the shape of a padlock.

huh... that might be one of the most logical, albeit boring responses yet lol. but that would be kinda cool, it'll be interesting to see if the OP had tried that yet.

Actually I think I found what its wired to yesterday when I was working on the car. Lol one wire is wired into the relay by the brake booster and the other goes somewhere in the harness
