I'm trying to decide on whether or not to upholster the sides of my center console in white or black leather. I did black last go around. My interior has white accent in it on the door panels and the seats. I've found some pictures online but I'm still not sure if I'm sold on white or if most people think it would be a tacky look.

I'd leave it as is personally.

 

If this is your car already, then I'd leave it as is. Looks great. It's not clear to me if this photo is edited or actual. What is in this photo is what it should be.

That's a picture of another member's car. I found the thread while digging on google. I don't think it looks bad but I'm not sure about it looking good. Most people seem to think black is better though.

 

white gets dirty easily

 

For sure, but this is a car that won't see that many miles. Mostly drives to car shows or to a friend's house.

 

I thought the pictures were eye catching (would stand out at a show) and looked nice... and as you said, if it's a weekend car, keeping it clean won't be a problem...

But the more personal choices... for me... I'm sensitive to brightness... I prefer dark interiors (which absorb light, instead of reflect, making it harder to see / makes me squint, etc... while trying to drive )

But you aint me... so if you dig it, do it, it's your car!!!

 

I really do like the white accents......but......I prefer black on the console. Can't explain why, just like it black. Mine was beechwood/tan carpet from the factory, and at one time I re-upholstered in black pleather and it looked awesome. When I redid the interior, I went back to stock beechwood carpet. Shoulda left it black. Still looks good...and I think if you choose white it'll look good.

But I still vote for black.
