History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
I had an 83 that looked almost exactly like this one. I remember hating the look of the new 84’s when they came out. Now with the passage of time I’ve come around to liking the look.
My girlfriend had a beautiful baby blue '83-305 car back in the 80's. I left the keys in it one night in 1986 after installing an aftermarket radio....someone took it...
Call me crazy, but I think it's actually a really nice car. There can't be that many of those cars left with the pushbutton interior that are still complete and functioning, can there? Maybe I need my eyes and ears checked, but it is an 8 cylinder, not 6, right?
Looks EXACTLY like my ride the very first time I ever laid my eyes on it back in 92'. My Father was working for a limo company and one of the guys he worked with bought it for his wife; she was the second owner and was selling the car with 74K miles on it. I paid $2400 for mine back then - and it looked EXACTLY like that one. Kinda' funny thing,... I ended up buying another one that was almost identical to it a 5-6 years later. Only difference was the second car had a hardtop. ( Still have my first one,... ended up "totaling" the second one in 99'. )
Thanx for the FLASH-BACK !!
Edit: I was wrong, the second one was also a T-Top car too...... It was the third one that was a hardtop ( but the 3rd one had a V6 )

My Girlfriend had one back in High School. 'bout 1990. Her dad owned an Exxon and essentially restored it. Burgandy with grey interior. The dash/interior looked cool, but I hated the turn signal....button, lever, thing! There was no positive feel when it engaged. Kinda had a mind of its own as to whether or not it'd work. Car was sharp. Great memories. Hated that turn signal.

You have caused me to now be curious about the steering column. Thanks!
