Re: WRC "astro" steering shaft

i've made a couple. they're time consuming and expensive to make. i'll make one if someone is looking for one, but not gonna make them unless i have a buyer already.

Re: WRC "astro" steering shaft

Will these work with a 600 series steering gear installed? Are they new or used?

they are $130 shipped. these require 2 shaft cores and the 2 are properly rosette welded together, with the correct clocking maintained.

Re: WRC "astro" steering shaft

I just received an Astro shaft from a fellow third genner and did a test fit and the torx screw setting is on top, but by going some pics it seems most are on bottom. Wheels are straight and steering wheel is straight as well.
It also seems to have a cleaner look if the torx was on the bottom. Does it matter? Any help with be appreciated

Re: WRC "astro" steering shaft

functionally, it makes no difference. i clock all in the same direction in regards to the flats on the steering box in relation to the column so that all column notching is consistent from one shaft to another. some cores have the torx on the top, other have it on the bottom. i've not found any rhyme or reason for this but do take notice of it when i'm reclocking.

thanks.

Re: WRC "astro" steering shaft

thanks Matt
this it 1 of the 2, I picked up from you. had it chrome plated, when I dropped the intake off to have it polished.. it came out nice.. less the $100 for the polish and chrome on the unit.. forgive the finger prints..did not wipe them off...

the guys at the chrome shop do fantastic work..life time guarantee/warranty on there work to boot..

I'm looking to buy one of these shafts. Do you still have any? It's been a while since anyone replied to this thread.

Do you have any shafts available? Are there any issues with noise like the DSE shafts?

I'd love to get ahold of one of those modded astro van shafts for my 87 IROC. I am wondering if you're still making them since this thread started like 10 years ago. Or maybe someone else out there has one to sell?
