Beware of GMPartsGiant
I have used them several times in the past but never again. I placed an order last Wednesday and everything seemed like it was good to go. Suddenly at 6:50 PM last Friday I get an email notification (50 minutes after customer service closed on a weekend no less) and it has a link to pay an additional $30 for shipping. Mind you it is a 2 piece plastic fan shroud I ordered all of maybe 6 lbs. Suddenly their shipping quote goes from $12.xx to over $40.00 and it delays the product shipping until this week. They claim they had an "error" in their website. I called them today, after multiple calls and attempts to reach someone in management they refused to ship the parts at the pricing they had invoiced prior. I find that an un-ethical bait and switch tactic. I cancelled the order and will be picking up the parts at a cheaper price at a local dealership that has them in stock when I return to Dallas/Fort Worth later this week.

Good thing you didn’t need to order a large part that needs freight delivery to ship. They would charge more than the listed price of the item to ship. The last GM parts place I dealt with raised their shipping charges by $200 after I ordered a part. I didn’t have to pay that, but they raised their shipping $200. $300 part now costs $500 to ship freight.

Have not checked into that but the 15 lbs radiator I ordered the same day that fit into that shroud cost $22 to ship via FedEx according to the invoiced amount. Radiator was just as large and a good bit heavier. Shipping is definitely not rocket science, I am in Texas not another country outside the contiguous US. Then again going rate is irrelevant honestly. Reputable businesses stick behind their already invoiced amounts when the mistake is on their end of the deal especially once the transaction has been finalized with the credit card company. It is not like the shipping dimension are not known and provided by GM to their database. The difference was like $30, however it is the point of it. You either have integrity in your operation or you don't. Adding another $30 to an already completed transaction is ludicrous. Had that additional shipping cost been disclosed ahead of time not 2 days later AFTER the start of their business weekend, I would have just grabbed it for less money at a somewhat local DFW dealership while I was there last week. I only placed an order with them for convienence to have it shipped directly to me.
I worked in the dealership world for nearly 20 years and aftermarket parts/repair world for over 5. I started out as a technician and have since managed a shop counter in a very busy dealership, managed internet sells in another busy dealership, also been a parts manager in a busy dealership. I have managed a brick and mortar parts store. I have never worked for a company where we made a customer pay for a mistake on our end. We absorbed shipping costs for overnighting things that someone forgot to order, sold parts under cost when quotes were inaccurate in our system or when website pricing was inaccurate due to pricing changes that were not caught, etc. We had a department or store expense account that it was written off to at the end of the month that came directly out of the net profits in the event of such problems. Just one of those things that happens in a multi-million dollar a year business operation during the process of doing business and providing good customer service. There are too many places for me to spend my money to deal with companies that operate like this one. Just my opinon and a heads up that this company operates on a bait and switch type of approach.

I definitely would not be using that mickey mouse operation. That is a pure and simple bait and switch tactic. They are banking additional money on their marked up freight charges. I shipped a 600 lbs long block engine via freight halfway across the country for $250 less than 2 weeks ago. I will say though for smaller stuff FedEx is absolutely terrible. I use UPS or even USPS when possible over FedEx any day of the week.
