Selling 1987 L98 5.7 TPI engine & 700R4 transmission with 118k miles. Donor vehicle is 87 Pontiac Trans Am GTA shown in pictures(Engine Still in Car). Included is complete engine, trans, torque converter, all engine accessories, wire harness, ECM, OEM intake system, exhaust manifolds, Y pipe, Magnaflow high flow Catalytic Converter. Car is NOT for sale.

Vehicle History:
The vehicle had been driven to 108k miles, then stored in garage since 1995. I purchased car in 2023. The prolonged storage caused the head gasket to fail. In 2023 the heads were removed and refreshed with all new top end gaskets (heads, intake, TPI, etc). Engine received full tune up and following new items:
- Holley 58mm Throttle Body $650
- Southbay 22lb Injectors $500
- AC Delco Water Pump
- AC Delco Alternator
- AC Delco Power Steering Pump
- Ignition Wires, Plugs, Cap, Rotor, Coil, etc
- Belts, Hoses, etc
- Magnaflow High Flow Catalytic Converter

The car was then driven about 10k miles, ran and shifted great. Upon start up this spring, the engine sounds like it has developed a rod bearing knock and needs to be repaired. Other than the bearing issue, this should be a great running engine/trans combo once repaired or use all the great parts. The engine will need to be removed once sold.
