An odd question I know. But I put in a set of digital gauges and the odometer is malfunctioning. Everything else works fine but I can't set the milage. Would an inaccurate odometer be grounds to fail smog?

You should be fine. I had an odometer bulb out on my 4th gen and the guy said he can just put unknown mileage. Car still passed without the mileage reading.
