Hello all,
Found a couple of easter eggs with my recent 92 Formula purchase. Nothing major, but want a couple of repairs made. Anywho, was wondering if anyone may have a third gen mechanic that you can recommend? I live in the IE area, but if something is close enough to me, I'll definitely check it out.
Thank you all in advance!

There's no such thing as a "thirdgen mechanic".
When you own these cars. YOU (or a knowledgeable friend) are the mechanic.
What kind of repairs are you in need of?...

Yeah I figured on no such thing. I've got a couple of people that can do so more major repairs as needed. I think I will eventually need my fuel pump replaced. Nothing major other than that.Originally Posted by T.L.

I was just kinda hoping to find someone that will treat these cars more gently. My car is for the most part original, and would hate to have a bunch of things broken on it when being worked on.
Thanks for the reply!
There's nothing to really break during a fuel pump change. It's 90% labor cost. Any reputable mechanic should be mindful of how they approach repairs.

IDK, anytime someone else has to lift these vehicles gives me pause. Heck, I take my wheels off and deliver them to the tire shop myself for that reason, haha.Originally Posted by ShiftyCapone

A fuel pump isn't bad for a DIY job though, just takes time to support the rear of the vehicle and drop the axle enough to allow the tank to come down.

I have a couple of good mechanics around with their own shop. They help me when I need. Fuel pump is nothing hard for experienced mechanic.
