I have an 88 Camaro with a 2.8 and I love my car but the springs are too soft. I want to lower it between 1" and 1.5" with V-8 springs to make it stiffer. I an also planning on buying subframe connectors from Hotchkins. Any suggestions for new springs?

really slow
I doubt you would achieve lowering the car with V-8 springs, after all they were designed to support more weight, so your car would probably naturaly sit higher, I had a friend awhile back who had what was called a F-41 camaro, it said it on the rear bumper, I think it was a 84-86 camaro, the car had a V-6 as well and cornered dam close to what my trans am ws-6 did, however I had way better tires and that gave me a little advantage, I drove his car and I think with better tires it would have been equal to mine, body roll was next to what my ws-6 is, the F-41 is probably what a Z-28 level 1 type suspension

Eibachs are designed to be cut. They are progrssively wound and the bottom coils are so stiff that you can take out a bit frm cutting them off and not lose a step in terms of springrate. AGood2.8 also has lowering spings in his six... you should try yo PM him if he doesnt respond.

I've had mine in there for about 10 years- don't remeber what brand they were- what I do remember is I had tired 3 different springs up front in this car and the ones I ended up with where some 800lb springs that I trimmed to ride height. People get into my car and immediately think "holly crap", You notice the race stiffness of this car even pulling out of the driveway. I basically have a full race- minus ultra light components ( I have mostly chromemoly parts and rodends) To me it is very comfortable for using daily on the street ( I can't drive a new car without complaining the suspensions feel scary in an emergency situation- I need a stifff suspension car). I have hit roads sometimes that are very torn up (bad pavement from heavy trucks) and it will be a tad bit bumpy- but still not uncomfortable
You want a Cadillac ride, buy a Cadillac. I built this car to handle.

I have IROC-Z sway bars and they dramatically improved cornering, and I too, like a stiff suspension, but my car lacks forward movement without squatting the rear and lifting the front. That is the only problem I would like to fix.

You probably just need new rear shocks. I just installed Suspension Techniques (made by BellTech) #60115 springs on my 2.8 Firebird; bought them from http://www.shox.com for $169. You can see all my messages up on the V6 board (and many here, too) regarding my suspension rebuild.
