Just like the title asks, are they discontinued from GM or do any aftermarket companies make aluminum drum brakes for our cars?

Nope. GM doesnt make alumin drums for our car or any aftermarket place. mainly becuz they warp and crack. this is what the guys at GMpartdirect told me

"The aluminum drums originally used on these vehicles had overheating and distortion problems. So GM changed all of them to cast iron replacments."

i ordered the "aluminum" drums from them and they just send you cast iron drums becuz GM is substiuting the alumin drums with cast iron drums. your best bet is to find an old set of alumin drums from a camaro/firebird. i got a used set on my camaro now but we found a nice crack between the cooling fins. thats why i ordered new alumin drums only to get cast iron.

they didn't make you pay the aluminum price did they? I have used ones too, but they aren't the best things to look at.

actually i think it was cheaper. i paid $55.xx per drum and it was like i think $13 shipping. the total was $133 at my door but if i knew i was just goin to end up with cast iron drums. i would have gotten them from work , but i wanted aluminum, got the short stick on that deal from GM. oh well. looks like ill just have to convert to rear disk in the near future (probably next yr).

the price i paid was for the " aluminum" ones but there just cast iron. if there catalog was working id be able to pull prices but i cant right now.
