Never sean one before, strut tower brace for the rear?

Thats what it looks like to me. It should stiffen the chassis like the fronts do.

What the hell, why wouldn't it just go straigh across? why does it come forward, up and then across? Looks like a bad design to me, unless it serves some other purpose than structural.

people that drift use rear braces like that all the time. it stiffens the rear suspension a bit and makes it easier to drift.

Looks like a combination brace and harness bar - there are tabs welded to it where the straps would connect
