I have seen tha BigBrake Upgrade site for LS1 and C5 brake upgrades but because I am finding that if I ask I can usually find the same things for less, example new k-member for $200. So I was wondering if there is an alternative to purchasing a kit for $950? Ebay isn't a good source all the time because I have only seen rotors and not calipers and spindles.

Bottom line where can I find the parts for a C5 upgrade icluding the adapter for less than the BigBrake price? I am willing to do grinding and drilling if necessary.

You may get better luck posting on the brake board. While you are looking on that board it may be worthwile to get ahold of ebmiller88 by PM or email. I bet he could beat that price.

Also, I see a lot of guys wanting "C5" rear brakes. Currently this can't be done. The caliper carriers are different from LS1 carriers and will not bolt onto the backing plate. The Vette backing plate won't bolt onto a 3rd gen rear as the designs are different. What I recommend is just installing a set of LS1 rear brakes because the calipers are so close to C5s in the rear, most people can't tell the difference anyway. Both C5 and LS1 rear rotors are 12" x 1.25" so you're matched there also. If you are wanting "C5 ZO6" red rear brakes, just have the LS1 calipers powdercoated to match. I've done it and the color was spot on.
