You probably could, but I have no idea which car's those would be.

You may be better off getting 2 junk calipers and turning them in as a core. Junkyard calipers usually sit so long that the piston often times sticks. The J65 rear disks weren't great to begin with. To do this job correct, you'll need a new rear axle. The mounting flanges are different between drum and disc. You could modify your existing axle but the fabrication and modification required are critical. You'd need new brake lines and a disc-only master cylinder. Also, backing plates, e-brake cables, calipers, misc. fasteners, just about everything. I made the swap but later converted to a 4th gen rear. Much better brakes, but the rear is 2" longer on each side (good for certain wheels, like 4th gen wheels). The J65 brakes had a bulletin out for them, back in '91, the parking brake would never hold, and the pistons would freeze (better off with new calipers!). If you find a 4th gen Z28 (SS, you're lucky!) rear, I'd recommend pulling that...They usually came with 3.23's (auto) or 3.42's (T-56) and all Z28 4th gen rears had disc brakes. Keep in mind the height of the tire and the lip on the quarter. The choice is yours but if you pull disc parts from a thirdgen, make sure the rear rotors aren't rusted far worse than the front.

I also just bought a 4th gen rear (97 T/A) for my 91 Z28. It has about 11 5/8" rotors, and the single piston PBR calipers. 3.23 and stock auburn posi. I got it for $350 shipped from Scott at SpeedAutomotive.com. I got rebuilt calipers for it, ($92). Autospecialty rotors, ($73 each). Autospecialty Metal-lux bonded pads, ($41). And new Timken wheel bearings, and outer pinion bearing and race w/ seals. I'll post pics in a few weeks, the housing is getting sandblasted now and I'll paint and reassemble it when I get it back.
