this is for a drag car. im looking to upgrade my rear shocks to afco double adjustable shocks. i have the conversion mounts for the bottom mount. can i use that same style mount on the top. so instead of using a direct replacement shock i could use one with the bearing mount on the top and bottom. so basically instead of using this one http://www.jegs.com/i/AFCO/921/3870R/10002/-1 i would use this one http://www.jegs.com/i/AFCO/921/3870/10002/-1 and use the stock springs for now.

Re: afco rear shocks
what hp are you running? That will determine what valving you need. I'd do the coil overs right off the bat and springs are only another 100.00. The 3870 will bolt in without using the same style rear lower mount. The 3870 is a stud mount shock up until you add the big gun valving, than its a bearing on both side and is a special order for the stud

its making around 670hp. runs 10.0s to high 9s. im trying to get it in the 9s more consistently. my 60s could be better so thats why im looking for a good set of shocks. as far as coil overs go, i will probably get the spring kit over the winter because id like to do some bracing around the upper mount area.
