i got an 82 Z28. I need to replace my gearbox and I was wondering if anyone knew if I could put a gearbox out of an iroc with a better ratio in my car.
any help is appreciated. thanks

Yup; bolts right in.

Might want to adjust it PROPERLY first. Do a search on something like "adjust gearbox" and my username for more details.

True dat... but OTOH, they're super eeeeeeeeezy to rebuild, and if they don't leak, even eeeeeeeeeeezier to merely adjust, when off the car; but MUCH harder on the car.

After all, no sense in putting somebody else's 200k miles worth of accumulated slop gearbox onto your car if you can avoid it.
