these are my times, I can't figure out why my car is falling on its face after the 1000 ft.

RT-.757
60'-1.987
330'-5.863
1/8-9.094@74.50
1000'11.90
1/414.27@96.83

What gives? Ideas anyone? If you need anymore info let me know I will be more than happy to provide it.

P.S. Times were on 3.42's

Doesn't seem like you have enough cam for 3.73's, also you don't mention the heads you have either.

Seems to me like you're actually running well with a TBI'ed engine.

Swirl-port garbage. Those are just about the worst possible heads you could have for a performance application regardless of being equipped with valves of the stock 350 size. They have no top-end flow; so with the gears you have, the motor reaches some RPM (probably around 5000-5200), and plateaus. Produces no meaningful power beyond that. Can't go any faster because there's no flow.

Get a set of decent heads.

Still seems fine for what you have...193 heads (1.94/1.50 valves, unless someone cut for larger exhuast valves), mild cam and headers.

Nothing to be ashamed about, you might find a few more ponies with tuning, but I don't think it'll drop you into the 13's if that's what you're after.

what kinda of heads? Can't really buy a aftermarket set funds low, but is there a good set that I can go get out of a junk yard? Or do I just need to save?

You can open yours up some...I think DynoDon did a set of 193's and gained 30RWHP.

You could find a set of L98 heads (083's) and work on them as well...Eventually you'll hit a limit, regardless of the heads, due to the cam, in act too much head and not enough cam will be a mismatch as well.
