i am thinking about buying a 1986 iroc-z28, i know it has TPI but i was wondering if that year they made it a 5.7 or a 5.0 and its damn cheap so i dont think its a 1 of 70 unless im really really lucky! please reply!

what about if it came from canada or mexico? maybe then it would have a 350 ....like the mexican monte carlo ss 350 came stock in them but no ecm cause there is no mexican air pollution laws well youc an always check the vin to be sure..if its origanal...

I read somewhere on here that GM made like 25 prototypes for a 86 z28 with a 350... if you have the money and resources to get one, get me one too

The 1987 model year started in calendar year 1986, as usual. But, that doesn't mean much.
Putting a 350 in a 305 TPI car isn't a big deal. In fact, the 1986 version with the "old" style intake bolt angles would be preferred, since your engine choices (heads, actually) would be greater.
If you're into the "numbers-matching" thing, then all this talk is distasteful to you, of course.
