Somebody point me to a good tech article on camshafts

Not just how to install them. I mean the real basics like what exactly does duration mean. I'd like to be able to figure out what a good cam for me would be on my own if possible. Thanks for the help.

get a catalog from comp or lunati, there's more info in it than in a years worth of hot rod magazines.
