383 buildup

I am planning on building a 383 stroker and i have planned most of it out but there are few questions that i need to get answered:

1.The crank i am planning on using is for external balanced engines, if i use this crank, can i still use a harmonic balancer and flexplate for a internal balanced engine.

2.What would be the best type of piston ring to use, this engine is going to be around 400 hp and redline around 5500 rpm.

3.Which main bearing should i run- full grooved main bearings or half grooved main bearings, i am using a stock replacement oil pump.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

1. No. By definition.

2. Chrome or moly rings will be fine.

3. Standard type bearings will be fine.
