stripped tranny pan bolt hole

well title explains it all. how do i fix it? its the one right in the front by the flexplate cover.....

your going to have to re-tap the hole. Just find out what size the bot it, thread number and find you tap and take your time. had to do it to my rear end cover after my dad stripped it.

ya thought bout that but... when i put the bolt in hole i can actually push it up in the slot and pull back out

Heli-coil it

IIRC those bolts are 8mm x whatever the "standard" (not "fine") metric thread is. But you can take one of the bolts with you when you go to the parts store for the Heli-coil kit, and match it up to make sure you get the right one.

or use one of those H plugs that retain themselves, I had to use one on my oil pan they are like 10 bucks

permatex makes this lil kit u mix these two polymers together like jb weld and then spread it into the hole, then u coat the bolt with this releasing agent and screw it into the goo, the goo sets up and u can unscrew the bolt leaving some nice threads in there, and the best part is it can withstand up to like 125 ft lbs of torque....we had a permatex rep give us a presenation on all their products yesterday and that stuff is wicked cool, just as strong as a helicoil and a hell of a lot easier...
