first off car sat a year . when i turn it over i hear pump. bout every 15 -20 tries i hear a very low "pop" so low i cant tell if its coming from exhaust or intake. i was thinking vats. wat do you guys think?

If VATS was bad, car wouldn't turn over. You need to look at fuel pressure, spark, and basics like that.
my 89 camaro vats went bad and it turned over. just the injectors wouldnt fire. maybe difference in years i guess.

WEll, true - the injector enable signal could go bad I guess but the VATS could still ground the starter enable relay. So see if the injectors fire - if they do, then it's not a VATS issue.

Im having the same issue, (will turn over, but no cranky) and no injector pulse.
Did you get this resolved?

sounds like what my 89 did and it was the vats.

If you think you have a VATS issue, can try bypassing it

Wasnt vats....was mostly my stupidity.....
got a noid light, found out one injector wasnt seeing a pulse, replaced fuse of said injector, tapped injectors with wrench, fired right up.
