I was randomly searching for something and ended up on the Monroe shock web site. I ended up looking at the listing for third gen hood shocks. They list 3 different parts numbers.
One for a steel hood. One for a fiberglass hood and one for an aluminum hood. When did a third gen Camaro ever come with an aluminum hood from the factory?

I never heard of it but if they're out there, it would be cool piece.
I use a fiberglass hood from an 82/83 but it's still heavy. I'd love an aluminum hood that could still be attached to the hinges and lift shocks. Just seeing the listing got me wondering although I've never heard of a third gen Camaro with an aluminum hood. I've seen listings for first gens.

Camaros didn't, certain early TransAms and a few 92 Firehawks did tho. Originally Posted by AlkyIROC
