I'm looking for the wiring harness for my hood release light. I was told that this wire has an attached mercury switch that sends the power thru to the light under my hood when opened. Anyone know where I can get one? Thanks guys!

The whole battery-drainer is an assembly. No separate switch. It will drain your battery unexpectedly all by itself.
I am guessing I shouldn't bother? Or try to find one that doesn't drain my whole battery

And, one that provides USEFUL light, besides. With a manual switch that won't unpredictably turn on all by itself and stay on and drain your battery DEAD when you least expect it (*cough*parkedonahill*cough), and that lights up the driver's side of the engine compartment, the front of the engine, etc.
The factory one is a total waste of perfectly good mercury.
You could wire up something simple for a light under the hood then install a toggle switch under the hood to turn it on and off.
...Or connect it to the parking/running light circuit for the feed to prevent it operating unless the lights are on.
