theoretically no more street racing for me?

I sold the formula and bought a used altered roadster. It use to run 7's with a blown alky big block. Bought it without an engine but plan to run a mild 454 and run 10's? Even though it isn't finished, since I bought it my whole perspective has changed about driving on the street. I dont care how fast my car runs, more interested in gas mileage. What do you think?

I can't imagine not having a fast car. I've got a 4 cylinder mustang that I drive around town that get's 30 mpg, so I could really care less what kind of mileage the 5.0 gets. I did the calculations, and from the amount of driving I do, the extra 10 miles per gallon I get in the 4 banger will allow the car to pay for itself in 50 weeks

heh i couldnt imagine having my camaro as a daily driver, theres no fun in that. i have a little toyota corolla that gets like 25 mpg, so gas mileage in the camaro isnt an issue.

That's what I'm talking about. Get a race only car and you won't care if you are driving a gas mileage slow car on the street. You know you can go to the drags and run like hell and never get picked on by the cops because of having a performance car that wasn't really that fast anyway. If you drive 80 in a 65 you get a ticket in an f-body, if you drive 80 in a 65 in a corolla the guy in the f-body is the one getting pulled over. So get the pinto and no tickets for the street and trailer your f-bod to the track and you can do what you want to the fbody then cause you won't have to worry about passing an emissions test. If you got the money you can get a 67 and not have to test but they're getting harder to come by especially not rusted out.

Dunno about you guys, but I HATE driving slow cars. I go frickin nuts if I'm driving a slow car. Ever tried to pass a car on the highway in a 4 banger and see a car coming at you but you can't accelerate as fast as you're used to and barely get over in time? Talk about white knuckle driving.

1) Yes, it sucks bad driving a 19 second car...that's why it's getting a turbo someday

2) I'd rather have my 4 banger get beat up in the parking deck at school than have another 5.0 get beat to pieces by careless *******s

3) With a 45 minute drive to school both ways 3 days a week it helps to save a little gas...which means a little money saved, which means even more mod money which means an even faster car.
