On my way to go get Amelia I pulled out behind an S-10 SS on Ironbridge. At the next stoplight I was right behind him. It was red with the SS label and turndowns right behind the rear axle. I knew they were going to gun it because the passenger was looking over at me and the driver gunned it a little as they drove by before I pulled out. So the light turned green and they crept off then nailed it. I followed suit and it took all I had short of slamming on brakes to keep from running through the back of the bed. Couple more lights up I'm still behind him as he does the same thing. This time I let him get a little bit of a run before I gunned it and came around him. As I cam up beside him I figured I'd proven enough and threw it in third and was going to go cruising along but he punched it again, so I downshifted into second and pulled him all the way up to 75. I really thought these trucks would be faster than they were.
After I got Amelia on our way to go get something to eat I was coming off 288 onto Courthouse when I tried to shift into 3rd and I had absolutely no third gear
Luckily we weren't too far from home so I limped it home in 2nd gear and after doing some trouble shooting figured out that the forward/reverse clutch is shot. Again, with a stroke of luck, I've got another freshly rebuilt C4 in the garage that I was saving for bartering material, but it looks like I'll have to swipe the clutch pack out of it so I can get my car up and running again by next weekend. Guess it's better than spending $200 on an overhaul kit.

Hey, Lighten up on the SS. It probly just had an exhaust.
The 94-95 were the fastest years and dead stock they only ran 15.5 to 15.9. Theoretically speaking thats pretty good for a 195hp truck.
It takes a couple of bolt ons to make them respectable.
I can beat quite a few cars from a 25+ roll, but I need to get everything done before I can whoop a$$ at the 1/4.
