It's actually not that complicated of a script...little CGI program to parse out that info. I think it's kinda cool...a bunch of others got all paranoid about it.

It's like the early days of the net where you could put a link into html and it would open up your c drive lol...

Got people freaked with stuff like that.

With a packet sniffer though you can at least read what ip it came from, and what browser sent it. IP packets are not OS dependant else there would be chaos on the internet...

there are some instances when os is sent as information in the packet.

With your ip though, you are linked to the whois service that holds a database of who owns which IP range.
