Hi guys,

I am in the process of an engine swap for the ol IROC. Now before I go sealing this baby up with gaskets and such, is there anything 'special' that I need to know when using the '113' casting vette heads with the TPIS bigmouth on my 355?

Like no special gaskets needed? I am using the plumbing of the EGR on the IROC NOT the Vette's setup with the tube that plumbs into the header/exhaust manifold. Anything I need to know when using the two together? I just dont want to mess up EGR in any way. Someone please set me in the right direction on this!

Thanks!

Well then your EGR wont work, there are no passages in the heads to supply the EG of the R.

As for gaskets, stay the hell away from FelPro. Other than that, I have no recommendations.

So then your saying I need to run the vette EGR tube to the headers?? And just get the gaskets for the 91 vette motor then?

Well that would explain some things then..... Can you fill me in anymore? Anyone else?

Actually come to think of it I think I had EGR disabled in the chip from fastchips... Would that matter at all or does the gas still need somewhere to go? I just dont really understand how all this works

It doesnt go anywhere, it never leaves the heads. The part in the intake will just be an empty air void. I'd suggest making sure the EGR is disabled in the chip and dont hook up the vacuum to it if you decide not to use it.

It is disabled in the chip.

So should I plug the little vaccum port on the EGR in the middle of the mainfold then? Or is it ok to leave it open?

Thanks for your help by the way!
