i have been searching for about 3 hours now and have been unable to find an answer to my question.
I have just picked up a set of used trick flow 23 degree heads i believe the number was 30400003, they look like a really good head. The person that had them before me had a bigger o.d. spring put on there, it is now a 1.550 o.d. and i would like to know if there are any stamped rockers that will fit this spring? He said the springs were comp cam hi tech springs that were good to .600 lift, and he said he used a roller cam on them(not sure if it was hydraulic or solid).
here are the specs of my engine, with out heads
1987 l98 flat top pistons bored .030
first injection unit
comp cams xr269hr-12
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...8&autoview=sku
1995 t56
3.23 rear gear
also it has 3/8 rocker studs on the heads.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why would you want to do that?
i am not fond of roller rockers, most of the ones i have seen and heard have a little bit of a tick to them, and that sound drives me nuts.

Get yourself a set of Comp Pro Magnum rollers, and be done with it.

With that much seat pressure the wear and tear on the valve stem and tip would be awful. Look into some GM performance RR's like the LT4's have. You don't hear any valvetrain noise out of an LT4.

Mike,
With my experience with the Trick flow heads (atleast this is true as far as the first gen version goes), the pro mags from comp do not work with this head. The wide body roller rockers are the ones to go for. I used a set of crane gold 1.5 which where great on my first build. On the second build I bought a set of the comp pro mags 1.6 but they did not allow you to screw on the rocker arm nut properly. So I eventually got a set of 1.6 wide body aluminum rockers from comp for a good price.
So don't worry about the tick. The performance benefits of having roller rockers out weighs the discomforting tick. It also prolongs your valve train life. Its worth it!

I have the 30400005's on my L98 and I also have the summit 1.6rr's. I do have some valvetrain noise, but not much different than the bosch injectors. As Rabi C. and myself posted, the benefits of full roller rockers FAAAAR outways the annoying ticking. I wouldn't recommend the summit brand (even though they are the same as the GM's, scorpions, etc, in design)if your a stickler for noise, but I would go with a good quality set. Remember to think about self aligning or not before you order.
