So I'm looking for a new distributor (mallory, MSD, etc.) that I do NOT have to run with one of the boxes. I am just looking to replace stock and want a drop in distributor that comes with everything (coil, cap, etc.) I have an '86 305 TPI... Any part numbers or links will be much appreciated, thank you.

Well..word of advice..unless your old dizzy has a spent shafst/bushing...all you're doing is spending money for bling...if that's your thing, cool...but drop the two bones on something you need.

Ofcourse, if you built that 305 to turn 7500RPMs, I cold see the stock dizzy holding you back a bit

The reason I'm contemplating replacing it is because I have replaced EVERYTHING else that could be the cause of my low idle and difficult cold start and all I can think of at this point is the distributor.

I went with the MSD 8366 Distributor, Its an nice one.
I recommend that one, summit got it for the lowest $$ last time I checked.
