ok so here recently i've been working on a 86 suburban and i was going though my garage when a light bulb went off... my question is.. what would it take to make a tpi off of a 89 350 work in my burban (with stock 350). would it just be putting it all together and reprogramming the prom? or is it much much more difficult than that? i've never actually messed with tpi before.. but i was hoping that it may help at the gas pump if even just a little lol... any help or guidance would be appreciated..

Get a map tpi setup instead maf whatever you do. slap that puppy in with the harness and see what happens.

what is it now carb? I cant see it being worth it. Fuel pump, distributer, TPI unit, wiring harness and you would have to use a complete separate ecu. It would probly cost about a 1000. You definitely want a speed density version of the tpi.
I think the difference would be small. Maybe think about a two barrel carb.

350 prom probably close enough you don't need a retune

I literally have everything from the 89 including pump, harness, distributor, sensors, ecu, must have missed the part about me cleaning my garage... and yes it is carb. I never expected major gains. The only cost I expected to have were for a prom... Originally Posted by 1RedCamaro

You don't think the added weight would affect anything? I mean this will be my first time messing with tpi... So I don't know if things like that would make a differenceOriginally Posted by vetteoz
