My 91 5 speed camaro has 84,000 miles on it and I was going to change the manual transmission fluid but, when I looked in the GM scheduled maintenance manual it said, "manual transmission does not require fluid change." Should I change it anyways just to be on the safe side?

i would and do, i'd run synthetic too. make sure you get the right oil, some manuals use ATF and others use gear oil. you should be able to tell when you drain it.

Its also a good time to check/replace your output shaft seal.

The maintenence manual says to use Dexron II ATF but, I wanted to use synthetic like you said but I wasn't sure if they made synthetic ATF fluid. I know they make synthetic gear oil is that what I should use or would that be too thick 75-90w?

Use ATF. AMSOIL synthetic ATF is arguably the best out there.

If you can't find it locally (look in the Yellow Pages), go to www.amsoil.com.
