Ok here's the story.

I bent one of the rims on my car.....so when i would drive it would shake really bad at about 65-70mph......everything below that was good......Well today i went to a rim shop to get an estimate to see if it could be repired....well i get a call and he says that i have a broken LEFT rear hub?......says it's destroyed....and that's more serious in the shaking problem then my bent rim.....Well the car never shook with the stock rims on it.......I don't have them anymore so can't test it.....

What i want to know it what the heck is a hub? and also how would i break one on the opposite side? Also what are the prices associated with this, if in fact he is telling the truth?

I'm posting this on a few boards......kind of important....Any Help would be appreciated....

Thanks in advance

by hub i'd guess he means the brake drum if that's it then figure around 40 dollars or so for the drum.

By "hub" he probably means the axle flange. If it's bent, you need another axle.

any price quotes on the axle?

I'm going to have to get a second opinion from another transmission guy to see if what he said was right.......

Is there any way to diagnose the problem myself......to see if it's one or the other???

Thanks
