Transmission: T-5 Manual Clutch
Axle/Gears: 3.73 Positraction
T-5 to 700r4
Well I have almost given up. We pulled the T-5 out and it has more damage than I thought. When we dropped the tranny it had an ear broke off so I thought maybe that could be fixed. We turned the input spline and we could not turn the out put spline in any gear. Well that one is trash. Then we looked up at the bell housing and it has a big crack around half of it and then I got thinking. Oh yeah, that is a one year only bellhousing without the hydraulic clutch so now I have zero parts except a used tranny I found that needs totally rebuilt.
I am just thinking I wonder how hard it is to put a 700r4 in. Does everything bolt on the same? Such as the torque arm, exhaust hangar, driveshaft, crossmember, tranny mount and then I have to worry about changing the console parts. I also have to put a transmission cooler in also but that is no big deal.
If anyone has an 83 V-8 bellhousing that they want to get rid of let know. If you live within about 300 miles I might be interested.
