I am currently in the process of rebuilding an 89 iroc and i an not familiar with torque converts or the best for my set up.
The car will have the 350 ramjet GM crate motor with SLP 3/4 headers and the SLP catback exhaust, will be running a 700R4 tranny with 40K on it. The rearend will have a 3.73 gear. With a few other mods we are hoping to have 280 to 300 rwhp.
What will be the best lock-up convert for the car? At a $1000 dollars and less. Would prefer less; however, for best convert with the best result I will pay the exact money just in the near future.
Also looking at a stall of 2800-3200, what stall speed would be the best?
any help and suggestions would be great.

www.pro-built.com sells ACT and Precision Industry TCs. THe ACT is a 9.5" converter for $565, the Precision industry's converter is suppose to be the best on the market, 9" and costs about $750.
I have heard really good things about Midwest Converters. That is the one that I will be buying. I'm still debating about the stall size.
