Ok, I'm the process of gathering up parts for my 406 build up. As mentioned in the sig i have a 2600 stall 12inch converter, i know i know its not the best, or even that great but thats what I have. I also have a 3.23 posi rear end. For the gear I thought maybe 3.42' would be better. With as much tourqe as the 406 is going to make, I think that 3.73 or 4.10's would make it slower. Its a street car, weeked play toy, stoplight to stoplight, and drive it some during the week kinda car. I could have went with a bigger cam and 220cc heads but I didnt want to.
My specs are below. I will go with dana at probuilt, I have talked to him before and is very helpful. I have seen how much times drop with a good convertor. Obviously I want everything as matched as I could.
406 w/ 5.7 rods
9.7:1 comp approx
ProTopLine ProLighting 200cc heads
269in/190ex cfm@.600 lift
Comp Cams 288xtreme roller cam
236/242 @.050, 288/294 Adv, .540/.562 lift. 110LSA intake on 106
Edelbrock RPM intake, port matched
750 holley DP
Long tube 1 3/4 headers, mufflex y pipe, 3inch flowmaster cat back
HEI w/ super coil
I think thats it.
Thanks for any suggestions
