I just bought an 84 z28 what rear end should this car have not sure if it has been changed becuse it does have a mini spool in it so some one has worked on it? thanks for the help

10-bolt, 7 1/2 inch rear, 26-spline... that's about all you could tell from year/model.
If you want to know the gear ratio and differential, there's 2 ways i know of to find out....
The easiest way is to look at the RPO code sheet... If it says G80 it came with posi, and G92 is the "performance rear axle ratio" (3.42's or 3.73's I believe...)
The harder way is to get under your car and look

you can also take your vin # to the local gm dealer and they can look it up in their system. they can find just about anything you want to know about your car.
