Powertrax no slip
I have a 7.5" factory GM limit slip rear end. The limit slip is wornout. (does a one wheel peel in the burnout pit)
Am considering getting a Powertrax no-slip locker.
Will a Powertrax no slip locker for an open rear end diff fit a factory "limit slip" diff? Or do you have to get and use a 7.5" "open carrier" and install the Powertrax unit in that?
The application chart is unclear as to which one to order for a 7.5" limited slip rear.

From what i knew, you had an open carrier, and took out the spider gear assembely, and replaced it with the Powertrax unit.
Someone else will chime in, with an exact.

Yes you need an open carrier unless stated "Replacment for OEM limited slip." I had to swap over the cariers when the posi in my Z28 gave up. I lucked out on that one, the shims needed to install the new carrier were identical.

SSc and Riley:
Thanks for the info, and thanks for the offer.
Probabily going to dig up an open carrier locally.
