Get a cable for an 83 Monte Carlo SS from GM and skip the universal stuff. That'd be my recommendation. Maybe someone with more time spent w/ a B&M cable will pipe up though.

What you're really after is the kick down cable for passing correct? The best thing to do is go to a GM dealership and buy one. That's what I did when I put my turbo 350 in. Cost was cheaper thatn the B+M unit and it waws made for the trans. Also, if the trans is modified at all get one of those adjustable vacumn modulators so you can asjust the shift point.

What do you mean by its missing a part? There is a piece inside the trans that you hook the cable too. The cable has an eyelet on the end that connects to the trans. You put the eyelet over the little "s" shaped piece that sits in the hole on the trans, and bolt it down. What part is this cable missing?
