A question for you transmission experts: The shift linkage that runs along the trans oil pan on the 700R4 has what looks like a small rubber boot covering part of it. I presume its to protect the linkage. Mine is torn. Is this part available, and how hard to change? Thanks.
Unless a reproduction has been released, you must buy the entire shifter cable to get this boot.

I have the same thing on mine, it's fine having it ripped (like i do
) but you just can't get any sand in there, sooooo back to your question. Yes floor guy is right, you need to buy the whole thing in order to get that, plus you can't get it off or on for that fact without ripping it again. (i already tried) go to a junk yard and take one off any firebird or camaro, they all work. I got mine for 2 bucks. If you can find one with a plastic ball end that connects to the transmission lever, those last longer then the metal ones seeing as they like to pop off a lot.
