A common problem with the swap with a T-56 is the VSS has anyone hooked it up.... if so how did you do it this could help alot of members get their cars running correctly...

I just did the swap my self and now i have a code (check engine light) 24 which is no vss signal present and i have the dakota didgital box wired in correctly. any thoughts let me know.

thanks

How do you have the box wired in? The directions are wrong. Its been a long while, but I think the directions tell you to use pin 4 and you need to use pin 3, or its the other way around. Is your speedometer on the dash working?

Search for "dakota digital" and you'll see the threads of everyone else who had that problem.

Re: ALL third gen owners with 6 speeds!!!
ok I have the box wired in as follows.....

VSS from trans to ground and the other wire to my autometer spedometer.... the spedometer works fine.... then from the spedometer on the (out) terminal that runs to the dakota digital box and connects to (SIG IN) the box is also connected to ground and 12volt power properly, and then i have the wire connected to the computer from the (out 5) on the box...... IS this correct.... all i know is that the Dakota digital box is recieving a signal becasue the green light flashes when the car moves

also if it matters, its a 1986 camaro with a TPI setup, and it had a mechanical spedo

if any one has done this, try to help me hook this up right... the dakota digital techs seem confused, also iv searched and cant find exactly what i need..

THANKS
