OVER THE WEEKEND I PUT A B&M SHIFT KIT IN MY 700R4 WHILE I WAS INSTALLING THE KIT I DID NOT SEE THE LARGER CHECK BALL THAT IS DESCRIBED AS POSITION "A" WHICH IS THE BALL THAT THE THROTTLE VALVE LINKAGE ASSEMBLY PUSHES .... IM NOT SURE IF I LOST THE BALL OR IF IT WASNT INCLUDED BUT MY MANUAL SHOWS IT IS.AFTER DRIVING I LIKE THE RESULTS AMD IT WORKS GOOD, BUT I AM STILL CONCERNED ABOUT THAT BALL, SHOULD IT BE IN THERE OR IS IT NOT THERE IN SOME MODELS...THNAKS FOR ANY HELP

I just bought a B&M Shift Improver Kit and was looking over the directions. Turns out in '87 they made some trannys with and some without an auxiliary valve body but both use a "copper flashed ball larger than other check *****" in the A position. Only the '84.5 and earlier models had nothing in this position. I'm going to put my kit in this weekend so I haven't physically checked this out.

my tranny has the aux valve body ....and it is a 87 im not sure what month it falls under. but if it was intended to be there wouldnt it be acting up or not shifting at all, so far it is working great, and another note is i had the tranny built and the guy did some mods that im not aware of ...would that have anything to do with it ?
