I removed. My tranny and engine out and finally got both new installed engine fires up but when I put the car through gears it won't. Go back up I have discovered my retaining clip is missing where do I go to replace it

a wee bit of lashing wire serves the same function. Wrap it around a little and the linkage will not come off and you still have full travel of the shifter.
