well i was following the instructions on line for the t5 swap, and as for the shifter hole i did 22 1/2 from the bell housing, but the begining of my shifter hole is 5 inches from the round hole above it. seems pretty far. also the tranny just doesnt want to slide in, i get it about a 1'' away i hope i put the piolt bearing in far enough. it is almost flush.

Not sure what that is? Never heard of such.round hole above it
Pilot bearing should look about like this.

It almost sounds like maybe you have a S truck transmission though. Those won't work in these cars, not least because the shifter is located about 5" too far forward on the transmission's extension housing.

i have a fbody transmission i took it out of a camaro, and the round hole is the one on the automatic cars for the shifter. about 1 1/2'' in diameter.Originally Posted by sofakingdom

That hole is irrelevant in a T5 or T56 car; you'll be cutting a new hole for the T5 shifter.Originally Posted by problem2420
