Horrible sound coming from transmission.

I have an 85 T/A with a T5 that feels like it's getting ready to go buh bye.

I'm making a last ditch effort and replacing the clutch/ t.o. bearing/pilot bearing and some other clutch accesories, but I want to make sure I've diagnosed it right.

My T5 makes this very noticeable whirring noise, almost like a turbocharger sound coming from towards the front of the transmission. When the car is in gear, you can hear it very, very clearly (and I mean it sounds like a turbocharger) except in 4th gear 1:1 where it is much less loud. In addition when the car is in neutral at a stop and the clutch is engaged, it is again very loud, and when you disengage the clutch you can hear this bearing spin sound slow down and eventually stop.

Driving wise, I've seen a relatively noticeable loss in power.

I'm planning on taking it apart in the next month and replacing the input shaft bearing, but I can't find where to get one - online or in commercial stores.

If anyone can help with the diagnosis and/or where I can find an input shaft bearing that would be much appreciated.

One more question is I bought the Hays 10.5 clutch and the t/o bearing is 1 3/8ths. With my input shaft being 1 1/8 is this a proper fit or do I need to buy a new one? Want to try to one and done this if possible!
