Hey guys I'm new to TGO! Fist off this site is awesome, such a weath of knowledge. I have a 91 camaro that I'm doing a 5.3 swap on. I'm going to use my T-5 with a lakewood 15020 as I already have both of them. I know the theory and statistics behind their weakness, and I have read a lot of threads with people bashing the idea and no answers. My question is has anyone run this setup for sure and have they ran into any exhaust clearance issues where the slave mounts to the bellhousing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You'll run into problems with long tubes on SBC and the 15020. Or the stock 84-92 bell. Or the stock 93-97 bell. There's no benefit to it on an LS engine outweighing this.

If you want unnecessary hassle, run it. If you want easier install, go concentric hydro throw out bearing.

Yea that is what I was wondering. Was going to run the 15020 to clear the 168 flywheel and possibly retaining the factory slave!! Not sure if I am going to run long tubes or not. Looking for the most cost effective way for exhaust without spending 8-900 on long tubes lol!

One other thing, the T-5 sits at a canted angle in the 3rd gen. Does anyone know of any other bell housing other then the 15020 that the will clear a 168 tooth flywheel and still have this canted angle? Thanks!

DIY,
McLeod (
(see both here: http://nastyz28.com/forum/threads/ho...5-swap.228456/ )
and the Lakewood 15015,
None of which have the external slave provision.

Having problems locating a 15015, seems no one carries it anymore unless it has had a part number change.
