I replaced the pinion seal and now have a lot of noise.

Did I over tighten the yoke nut and smash the crush sleeve.

What is the problem?

How do I fix it?

i'd guess you didn't get enough preload on the pinion. how did you put the nut back on? did you chqnge or add oil to it?

I just changed the pinion seal on my 91' RS about a month ago. I don't know but didn't the Z's come with different rears than the RS's? Any ways the way I did it on mine was before removing the nut from the yoke I match marked the nut to shaft and also the location of the yoke on the spline. When reinstalling it I tightened the nut to the mark I made then went 1/16 of an inch beyond it and that was it. Refilled it with new oil and haven't had any problems.
