Ok, I wasn't sure if this went in drivetrain or electrical, so I thought someone might know from when they swaped shifters. Anyway, I am trying to figure out what all the wires do that go into that black arc shaped box next to the shifter.
In electrical, someone wants to put LEDs under the plate, and I am thinking that those wires tell the car which gear it is in, which would ultimately light up an LED of the specific gear!
If you understood that, congrats!

If anyone can help me with this, I would appriciate it. Otherwise, I'm going to go in and start crossing them untill finaly the reverse lights come on.

Thanks

Oh, shoot, I forgot to say that stuff.

Well, it's an automatic. I disconected the harness and started testing between the different prongs on the switch type thing. I found that the first two large wires deal with park/neutral starting. the second two are for reverse. I have a little more experimenting to do to find out what the rest of the wires do, or what happens if they are connected in more than just pairs. Well, stupid me just realized there are wiring diagrams in tech articles now. I still need to figure out drive and the other lower gears however.
