I'm replacing my 200C tranny with a 700R4.
The square elec connector on the tranny has 2 pins on the 200C, but the 700R4 has 3 pins. What is the third pin for?
Both trannys have converter lock-up function.
Thx

Well, I've called abt 10 places, and got 10 different answers.
What I'm hearing is that the tranny is different electrically. (great)
I'm hearing on the 700R4 plug there is power from the ign, power thru the brake switch and the 3rd pin goes to a vac switch!?!?!?
I was thinking power came thru the brake switch, thru the lock-up solenoid, thru a press switch and back out to get a ground thru the computer.
This explains 2 of the pins.
Now I'm really confused..
Help!

The third wire on F-bodies is for the 4th gear switch to tell the computer when the transmission is in O/D. You can ignore it.

The third wire probably has something to do with the fourth gear signal for the ecm.
Got a manual today. You guys are right. It is the 4th gear signal line.
Once it get my speedo working, I'll be able to test out the TCC!
Thx.
